WEEK 5: JANUARY 28th - FEBRUARY 2nd: NO MEATS; NO SWEETS; NO JUNK FOOD; NO FAST FOOD; NO DAIRY PRODUCTS; ONLY 2 HOURS OF TV PER DAY; NO VIDEO GAMES ON TV, INTERNET, COMPUTER, OR HAND-HELD; NO LEISURE INTERNET SURFING; NO MOVIES ON TV OR THE THEATERS; ONE MEAL A DAY.

"Fasting without prayer is just a hunger strike!"

No meats means NOTHING that flies, swims, walks or crawls. NO cakes, NO cookies, NO fruit roll-ups, NO Cracker Jacks, NO sodas, NO coffee or Kool-aid. NO jelly, syrup, honey on pancakes or toast. NO presweetened cereals or Jell-O. Just say "NO" to pretzels, popcorn, potato chips, french fries, nachos, and the like. NO Taco Bell, McDonald's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, Checkers, etc. NO butter, cream, milk, cheese or yogurt. You are only allowed ONE meal per day. This means that when you sit down and begin eating your meal, once you've stopped eating that meal, that should be the only food that you've consumed for the day.

You CAN watch Christian television such as Victory Today, Believers Voice of Victory, Changing your World, etc. Fresh and dried fruit, and 100% fruit juice is allowed, and is so much better for you anyway! Don't get bored by repeating the same recipes over and over. For the entire month there will be 79 meals to prepare. Think of pasta as a main course, or tortillas, or potatoes. We have tons of new recipes on the website for you to try. You, who have been struggling with weight, may find your deliverance this week.

With the exception of individuals who are pregnant, have diabetes, hypertension, children and toddlers, and those who are required to eat one or more meals per day, everyone is able to fast at this level. If you are pregnant, please remember to have at least three servings of protein each day, such as cheese, beans, whole grains, and peanut butter. Continue to drink milk, or eat some other source of calcium each day. If you are on medication, continue it as directed. Those with Diabetes, beware of too much fruit juice! This can make your blood sugar run to high, so always have at least half the volume of your fluid be water (you can even mix it with sparkling water to make a juice spritzer).
